Post-datum: 2023-03-24

TPD2E001 is an electrostatic discharge (ESD) protected diode array based on a two-channel transient voltage suppressor (TVS). The anti-static performance of TPD2E001 meets the highest level specified in IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 International standard.

Application Schematic

The DRS package (3.00 mm x 3.00 mm) is also available as a non-magnetic package for medical imaging applications. See also TPD2E2U06DRLR, which is compatible with TPD2E001DRLR p2p and provides higher IEC ESD protection, lower clamping voltage, and eliminates the requirement for input capacitance.

Detailed Description

Overview

TPD2E001 is an ESD protection diode array based on a two-channel transient voltage suppressor (TVS). The anti-static performance of TPD2E001 meets the highest level specified in IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 International standard.

Feature Description

TPD2E001 is a unidirectional low capacitance ESD protection device. The device is constructed from a central ESD clamp with two hidden diodes per wire to reduce capacitance load. This central anti-static pliers is also connected to the VCC to provide protection for the VCC line. The anti-static performance of each IO cable exceeds the maximum level specified in the international standard IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4. TPD2E001's low load capacitance makes it ideal for protecting high speed signal terminals.

Device Functional Modes

TPD2E001 is a passive integrated circuit that activates when the voltage is higher than VBR or lower than low diode Vforward (-0.6V) when the circuit is protected. In ESD events, voltages up to ±15 kV can be directed to ground and VCC via an internal diode network. Once the voltage on the protected line falls below the trigger voltage of TPD2E001 (usually within 10 seconds), the device reverts to a high impedance state.

Application Information

TPD2E001 is a diode array type transient voltage suppressor (TVS) commonly used to provide a path to ground on high-speed signal lines between the human-machine interface connector and the system to dissipate ESD events. When the current from the ESD passes through the TV, only a small voltage drop exists on the diode. This is the voltage presented to the protected IC. Low RDYN triggering TVS keeps this voltage VCLAMP at a tolerable level for the protected IC.
