A compact and economical "microdata logger" provides alerts when temperatures exceed set limits and downloads the recorded data to the application for examination and analysis. Timestrip launched its first temperature data logger, the TL520.Compared to traditional data loggers, the device is simpler and easier to use, requires little training and can be used at any point in the cold chain.

It is a single-use device that uses built-in LED lights to provide immediate and irreversible indication of overheating and undertemperature conditions. The accuracy is ±0.5C in normal operating range.

One novel feature is that stored data can be sent wirelessly to an accompanying application for investigation and analysis using built-in NFC technology. No computer is required as data is downloaded to any compatible mobile device - iOS and Android devices are supported.

Medicines, vaccines, blood and food are typical end-use applications. The 2-8C default setting makes it excellent for cold chain temperature monitoring during storage and transportation of sensitive products.

Nora Murphy, Timestrip's commercial director said:"This new miniature logger offers many of the advantages of traditional bulky data loggers, but is simpler to use and small enough to be stored with many products during transport and storage,"
