Diodes Incorporated's AP91352 electronic fuse provides protection against fault conditions that can cause catastrophic equipment failure. It targets applications in consumer products such as plug-and-play hard drives, solid-state drives and similar hot-plug computer applications, as well as manufacturers of motherboards, printers and servers. AP91352 provides undervoltage lockout, overvoltage clamping, thermal shutdown and reverse current protection for downstream power components to prevent damage and premature component failure. Another key advantage of the AP91352 is its operation as a resettable fuse that restarts a protected application after the fault condition is eliminated. This improves the overall system reliability and reduces the number of on-site returns for the final product. Through a wide range of 3.6V to 12V, the protection capability of AP91352 is enhanced in stable operating voltage. Uses integrated NMOS power devices (typically with low RDS (ON) of 50mΩ) and reduces power loss through the use of internal current limiting circuits, thereby avoiding voltage drops due to the use of external current sense resistors in the load path, which reduces Power loss. The device is available in a small, standard pin output and a thin W-DFN3020-12 package to reduce application footprint.
