Elektrobit has announced a partnership with BlackBerry to provide basic software support for the new Neighborhood Electric Vehicle, a leading Chinese luxury NEV manufacturer. Elektrobit's state-of-the-art AUTOSAR Adaptive software platform and BlackBerry QNX are ISO 26262 ASIL D certified operating systems. Together, they have laid a complete pre-integration foundation for the development of ADAS electronic control units (ECUs) with enhanced vehicle safety levels.

In this project, Elektrobit provided its second generation EB corbos AdaptiveCore software and EB corbos Studio tools, and created a software framework for the Autopilot domain controller based on the Adaptive AUTOSAR platform. The Adaptive AUTOSAR Platform is supported by the BlackBerry QNX Software Development Platform 7.1 and QNX OS for Safety operating systems.

The two automotive software pioneers and leaders have a long, global relationship that has led to a number of key design orders, and together they will make it easier for automakers and their suppliers to develop advanced features and functions that will reduce time to market.

Stefan Pruisken, Product Management Director at Elektrobit HPC, said: "This is our first collaboration with BlackBerry in China in the field of autonomous driving and we look forward to delivering many more successful projects together in China in the future. "Elektrobit's AUTOSAR Adaptive platform, combined with BlackBerry's QNX operating system, helps create functionally secure, network secure, flexible, updatable and high-performance ECUs that will help Chinese automakers accelerate the development of their autonomous driving domain controllers and facilitate mass production of new electric vehicles."

Dhiraj Handa, Vice President, Asia Pacific, BlackBerry Technology Solutions (BTS), said: "We are excited to work with Elektrobit on this latest autonomous Driving Domain controller project. Elektrobit's leading software solutions, combined with BlackBerry's proven and trusted foundation mission-critical software platform, will help drive innovation in the Chinese automotive market. It also protects its functional security, network security and reliability."
