The Micrel MICRF229 ASK / OOK receiver with automatic polling function and RSSI is a 400-450MHz superheterodyne, image suppression RF receiver with automatic gain control. MICRF229 also has ASK / OOK demodulator and analog RSSI output. It is ideal for low cost, low power consumption, RKE, TPMS and remote drive applications, and only requires a crystal oscillator and a minimum number of external components. It achieves a sensitivity of -112dBm with a bit error rate of 1% and a bit rate of 1kbps. The MICRF229 has 8 demodulator filter bandwidths and can be selected in binary steps from 343.9kHz from 163.9Hz to 433.92MHz. This allows the device to support bit rates up to 20kbps. It usually consumes 6.0mA current at 433.92MHz, and the power supply voltage is 3.5V to 5.5V. Shutdown mode and sleep mode reduce the current to 0.5µa and 15µA. Applications include car remote keyless entry (RKE), remote RFID, remote fan / light control, garage door / door opener, remote metering, and low data rate unidirectional wireless data links.
