Panasonic's PAN1740 next-generation Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module enables low-energy wireless connectivity. With the recent increasing demand for this type of connection, BLE provides reduced size, significantly reduced power consumption, and embedded software stacks. This single-mode Bluetooth smart system-on-chip module is optimized for low power, small size, and low cost system products, making it ideal for smart watches, fitness trackers, smartphone accessories, medical monitors (such as heart rate monitors and blood glucose meters ) And the Internet of Things (IoT). BLE achieves its low power consumption mainly by keeping the radio off for a long time. BLE can also establish a connection very quickly, thereby further reducing the radio turn-on time. BLE can send authenticated data in as little as 3ms, while Bluetooth Classic's typical time is 1000ms. The PAN1740 uses a 9mm x 9.5mm x 1.8mm ultra-small SMD package with a shielded box and chip antenna, which reduces the number of external components and reduces development work. The temperature range is -40C to 85C. The tiny power consumption of only 4.9mA in Tx and Rx modes makes the use of a coin cell feasible or reduces the required battery capacity and the cost of existing solutions by at least 50%. It complies with the Bluetooth 4.0 standard and is currently awaiting FCC, IC and CE certification. This module has a complete software development platform, including a qualified Bluetooth Smart single-mode stack, which can be programmed on the chip. The company said that Bluetooth Smart profiles for consumer health, sports, fitness, security and proximity applications are standard, while also providing facilities for developing other customer profiles as needed.
