Post-datum: 2015-08-25
The rugged Texas Instruments (TI) DP83867 is a powerful low-power full-function physical layer transceiver with an integrated PMD sublayer that can support 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T Ethernet protocols. The device is optimized for ESD protection, exceeding 8kV IEC 61000-4-2 (direct contact). Facing the harsh industrial environment, the power consumption of DP83867 at full working power is only 565mW. To further save power consumption, an optional 1.8V power supply can reduce the power to 545mW. Wake on LAN can be used to reduce system power consumption. DP83867 is designed to easily implement 10/100/1000 Mb / s Ethernet LAN. It directly interfaces with the twisted pair media through an external transformer. The device is directly connected to the MAC layer through the IEEE 802.3 standard media independent interface (MII), IEEE 802.3 gigabit media independent interface (GMII) or reduced GMII (RGMII). DP83867 provides accurate clock synchronization, including synchronous Ethernet clock output. It is deterministic, low latency, and provides IEEE 1588 frame start detection.
